Roster Cuts Claim Pat White, Miami Dolphins Trim Down To 53-Man Roster

White did earn a $1.538 million option bonus in 2010, but now is due a mere $395,000 salary for his sophomore season. Still, he remains untouched.

The good news is that he likely won’t be out of options given that the UFL is inhaling all the spare NFL talent it can in lue of the near certain lockout the NFL will face next year. So if White isn’t picked up by another NFL team the former Big East star most certainly won’t be out of work.

In other camp news, the Dolphins claimed four players on waiver claims Sunday and also cut three players.

Helping fill the need of defensive leaders are ends Clifton Geathers and Robert Rose. The offensive line also gains some depth with the addition of Jeremy Parnell and Joe Reitz.

Part of the need at defensive end was created by the release of Marques Douglas and Charles Grant. Offensive guard Cory Proctor was also released.

Will Allen, who saw action in six games last year, is out for the year after missing 10 games last year with an ACL tear in Week 6 against the Saints.

With the emergence of the New York Jets, the Dolphins remain third in line to win the AFC East. Bodog has them as +350 underdogs behind the Jets and New England Patriots.
