Gianfranco Zola is odds-on to leave West Ham United before the start of the next Premiership season following his side’s home humbling by Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday.

The former Chelsea striker is at betting odds of 1/3 to go and 9/4 to lead the Hammers from East London into the new Premier League campaign.

Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: “Despite the poor performance, West Ham appear in a better position than the sides below them. But staying in the top flight by default may not be enough to save Zola’s job.”

West Ham are at odds of 3/1 for the drop from the Top Flight, with Burnley at 1/10 and Hull City at 1/2.
