Players at leading online casino and sportsbook Betfair.com can now get in on the action using their Apple iPad after the UK-licensed site released the world’s first betting application developed especially for the tablet computer.

Betfair.com revealed that the new application is free from Apple’s Applications Store and allows players to check out the markets, place bets and monitor their accounts using either a portrait or landscape mode.

“Once more, we are pushing our boundaries when it comes to adapting our products to the latest web and technology trends,” said Don Fotsch, Global Director Of User Experience for London-based Betfair.com.

“It’s clear to us when we observe our customers enjoying Betfair.com, that they are often watching the games they want to bet on. Something we see globally as the iPad gets going is that it looks to be a strong complement to the television viewing experience. In my opinion, you’ll definitely see iPads appealing to a broader demographic than any other computing device in the history of the iGaming industry.”
